Cognyx is on a mission to build the “GitHub for Hardware”. Leveraging the most advanced data and software technologies, including AI, Cognyx’s Engineering Acceleration platform enables manufacturers to reach a 10x improvement in speed and reliability of their engineering operations. Cognyx’s mission starts with building the industry’s first “universal and collaborative BOM”, instating a seamless digital continuity between engineering IT systems.
In 2035, ≈ 25% of software spending of engineering-heavy companies will be dedicated to “Engineering Knowledge”. This new category of software will sit between the 2 heaviest business software categories (namely ERP and PLM) and will encompass capturing, connecting and leveraging knowledge of all operations. It will be the core space where AI can express its full potential, and will 10x the overall productivity of engineers through the value chain. Cognyx intends to capture this opportunity, starting with manufacturing’s #1 deliverable: the Bill Of Material!
